When running on empty, can't mean running out of hope ❤️

Foodbank's 'Running on Empty' Appeal

We never thought we'd be here again.

Charity partners with no access to fuel or worse. Volunteers calling in to say, ‘I’m sorry, I can’t get there today’. Foodbank’s trucks which have clocked up 114,000 kms in 3 months to deliver meals around the state…not grounded yet, but the cost to keep them on the road has skyrocketed

And then there’s people. The rising tide of distress out there is at levels we haven't seen since the pandemic.

Families missing the school run, the urgent work meeting, and the customer deliveries that keep their business afloat. Medical appointments cancelled. Regional communities…the hardest hit of all. Anxiety, food shortages, social isolation.

76,000 Victorians a day are now relying on Foodbank Victoria to simply eat – that’s one meal every second.

And yes, Foodbank is also facing the prospect of empty shelves as well as critical fuel shortages.

But you know what?

We’re full of hope. Along with the infrastructure that provides a whopping 70% of Victoria’s food relief through more than 1,800 community partners right across the state. It’s a food security system that people can depend on every day. It can't EVER break down.

All we need is YOU. You’re the reason we keep running, driving, and comforting people facing some of the worst times of their life.

With every $1 you create 2 meals, to help fill humans with warm, nourishing food this winter. We like to call it the hope that fills you. Fills our shelves. Fills 76,000 people a day.

Helping us turn dire to inspire in our little corner of the world.

Our team live on ABC Breakfast TV

‘How bad is it going to get?’

That's the question ABC asked our CEO Dave, our Chief Commercial Officer Katie Fisher and Julie Pawley who manages our Morwell Community Food Centre this week. We’ve had 96 years of being there for Victorians, and we will always act quickly. But there’s something different about this dire convergence of global and local stressors. It’s happening in the lead up to winter when demand is already at historically high levels with 76,000 Victorians a day now running on empty just as power bills are about to surge. That's why we need your help now more than ever...

Help us keep shelves stocked and trucks on the road.

Donate today to provide nourishing food this winter ❤️
