Starter for 10

By Lynton Brewer

I’m running 10 marathons in 2025 to help Foodbank Victoria and I need your help!

Did you know that 69,000 Victorians rely on Foodbank Victoria for food every day? That's a scary number.

That’s why I’ve decided to embark on something scary (for me) by running 10 marathons in 2025.

As well as getting fit as I approach my own scary number, and ticking off some bucket list runs (hello New York Marathon), I'm hoping to raise funds for Foodbank Victoria to put meals on tables for people doing it tough.

I started with a marathon on Australia Day at Tamborine Mountain and all going well, I will finish with a marathon around (and around) the Tan in Melbourne in late November (which I highly encourage you to come and join me for - even for a lap or two!).

Every $1 donated is TWO meals created by Foodbank. Can you help me reach my target?

Schedule:

#1: Tamborine mountain 26/1 ✅

#2: Inverloch 16/3 ✅

#3: Canberra 13/4 ✅

#4: Woodlands 25/5

#5: Gold Coast 6/7

#6: Semaphore (Adelaide) 3/8

#7: Sydney 31/8

#8: Melbourne 12/10

#9: New York 2/11

#10: Tan team relay (Melbourne) 23/11

#3 Canberra Marathon 13/4/25

Tuesday 15th Apr
Beautiful cool morning with an Inspiring pre run speech from Rob DeCastella - apparently the pain is the beautiful thing. Lovely course around Canberra and the lake. Tough finish under a baking sun. Had to hustle to get to the line under 4hrs (3:59:44). Happy.

#2 Inverloch marathon 16/3/25

Thursday 27th Mar
Awful weather for marathon no.2. Constant rain and wind but a really nice coastal out and back course for the 143 marathon participants. Half way in 1:51 but faded for 4:05 overall. Pulled up alright considering.

#1 Tamborine Mountain 26/1/25

Thursday 27th Mar
A warm and super hilly marathon to kick things off on Australia Day. Despite the 5am start it was pretty muggy for a lot of it for the 19 full marathon starters. A great mixed trail 7km loop which we completed 6 times.  On lap 5 I failed to catch a team of 8 men dressed in a connected caterpillar costume. Probably gives you an idea of how I was going by then. Halfway in 2hrs. Home in 4hrs, 22m.
