How you help
How does Foodbank get the food YOU help fund to people who need it?
All we need is 3 minutes to show you all the work that goes on behind the scenes of our warehouse, our free food markets, the charities and schools we support and the programs we run to help feed 69,000 Victorians every single day. Watch this video to see for yourself.
So many people are struggling to afford even the basics right now – especially at expensive times of year like Christmas.
Thanks to our amazing community fundraisers, we can create a seat at the table for every one of those 69,000 people who would otherwise be going without this Christmas. So, if you’d like to put on your Santa hat, we’d really appreciate the help – because with your support, we can make sure everyone has access to fresh, nutritious (and of course, delicious) food this Christmas.
The coolest supermarket ever
Have you ever shopped for groceries in a stretchy, 18-metre-long bus full of food? Well, if you need our food there's a bus just for you – thanks to the support of our partner Kinetic who donated these beauties!
Our two mobile supermarket buses are essentially mini supermarkets on wheels, full of cleverly engineered shelving and refrigeration for fresh produce, chilled food, and basic pantry items like pasta and rice for creating wholesome family meals.
We visit suburbs right across Melbourne with ingredients to suit the cultural and nutritional needs of our community members, so they can “shop” for the fresh food and groceries they enjoy – for free! Each mobile supermarket delivers 2,000 kgs of healthy, nutritious food – creating an incredible 3,636 meals every trip.
Farm fresh food to families
Our monthly Farms to Families markets do exactly what they say on the tin by providing healthy, nutritious produce to our communities near and far, from metro Melbourne to regional Victoria.
Stacked with fresh seasonal veggies and fruit, bread and milk, our free Farms to Families program provides enough to last a family an entire week from just one shop. All within a warm, welcoming space for our community members to connect with one another.
Wrapping our arms around regional Victoria
Our two purpose-built Community Food Centres in Ballarat and Morwell have community at their core. Created in partnership with Vic Government, these ‘hubs’ are designed to celebrate and support our local communities through free food programs, community food markets, veggie gardens, farming and cooking classes.
Thanks to these Centres, we can distribute even more fresh, chilled and frozen food to our charity partners throughout these regions, meaning healthy food is there for people who need it. Right where they live. Transforming lives through food.
